What Do We Offer?
Neuro Rehabilitation
We deliver tailored rehabilitation to individuals with neurological conditions who wish to improve their movement, functional ability and physical performance. Neurological physiotherapy can assist in the management of pain, facilitate recovery following a neurological injury or illness and support those managing long term neurological conditions.
At Transform Neuro, your rehabilitation needs will be guided by a qualified chartered physiotherapist with expertise in:
-
Movement and Postural analysis
-
Exercise prescription including neuromuscular retraining and strength and conditioning
-
Gait and balance rehabilitation
-
Hands-on facilitation including therapeutic handling,
-
Spasticity management and the use of orthotics, kinesiology taping, splinting and Neuromuscular/Funcrional Electrical Stimulation.
In order to tailor your treatment programme according to your individual needs, an initial assessment will be undertaken to discuss your symptoms and relevant medical history, identify your goals for physiotherapy intervention alongside a physical examination. Transform Neuro will discuss your assessment findings and the clinical reasoning used in developing your treatment plan. The treatment delivered by Transform Neuro is evidence based and customised to each person.
Vestibular & Balance Rehabilitation
Peripheral vestibular disorders are conditions that affect the vestibular system, located in the inner ear which provides the brain with information on head positioning, spatial orientation and is an important neurological system in balance regulation. Common peripheral disorders include Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) or Vestibular Schwannoma.
Central vestibular disorders are conditions that affect how the brain interprets and processes the information provided from the peripheral vestibular system. Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Brain tumours, or other neurological symptoms or conditions may affect or disrupt vestibular information processing.
Transform Neuro has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of both central and peripheral vestibular and balance disorders. We provide a specialist form of physiotherapy that uses specific exercises to treat symptoms arising from both peripheral or central vestibular disorders. It aims to reduce symptoms of vertigo and dizziness, and improve balance and reduce the risk of falling.
Neurological impairments often bring significant balance challenges, which can result in restricted movement and increase the likelihood of falling. Balance rehabilitation aims to improve an individual’s stability and coordination in order to reduce their risk of falls. Better balance can boost an individual’s confidence and their independence in undertaking activities in their daily lives, making everyday tasks easier.

Neuro Pilates
Delivered by neuro physiotherapists, we modify exercises to suit the individual needs of those with neurological symptoms or ongoing neurological conditions. Neuro Pilates aims to restore normal movement patterns and increased coordination and neuromuscular control.
Medical research has demonstrated improved balance, walking performance and functional ability following the application of Neuro Pilates. Clinical guidelines also recommend Pilates in the treatment of long term neurological conditions.
Many physical challenges resulting from neurological conditions can be improved through Pilates-based rehabilitation and Transform Neuro offers 1:1 sessions in therapeutic Neuro Pilates and Reformer Pilates.
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is a modification of the traditional Pilates method, where physiotherapists tailor exercises to an individual’s specific needs and goals, supporting those with injuries or health conditions. We are skilled in delivering Pilates interventions that are designed to promote core stability, flexibility, endurance, postural and body awareness and to correct muscle imbalances.. This is type of Pilates is ideal following injury or illness.
Transform Neuro offers 1:1 sessions in therapeutic Clinical Pilates and Reformer Pilates.
We are also trained in delivering antenatal, postnatal and hypermobility rehabilitation through mat-based and Reformer Pilates.

Facial Rehabilitation
Facial weakness or facial asymmetry can occur as a result of many neurological conditions, and we are experienced in supporting individuals with facial nerve damage or paralysis caused by conditions such as Bell's Palsy, Stroke, surgery, trauma, or injury.
As well as impacting upon an individual’s communication and swallowing abilities, the psychological impact of facial dysfunction can be particularly distressing for those who are impacted by facial weakness. We provide specific facial rehabilitation techniques to support individuals to regain, restore and optimise facial muscle function as a result of a neurological condition.
